I volunteer as secretary/treasurer for 3green assistance, a small non-profit organization that gives grants to other non-profits for environmental projects. We have provided grants to local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, PIH, and the YMCA.

FROM THE HEART

I have had a very blessed and fortunate life. The problem is that I believe that one needs to give back in proportion (or more) of what they have been given. One way I can do that is to work to make all the residents of Whittier better off than they were before.

I am also guided by the scout's pledge to leave a place better than when you arrived.

I worked very, very hard for over 30 years to help ensure my students would have a better life. This motivation would be the same for the residents of Whittier.

Finally, I am not accepting any donations from corporations or businesses that do business with the city. I want to make decisions clear from any sense of obligation.

You entrusted me with your most valuable family members, your children, for 30 years; now I ask you to trust me with our city.

SAFETY

More support for our police - financially and from the people. Better traffic regulations and enforcement. Check out my video in the link above.

COMMUNITY

More events, programs, and places that bring both children and adults together. Expansion of sports facilities and programs for our elderly. Greater cooperation with schools and the city for facilities joint use.

PROSPERITY

More support for small businesses and new construction must have minimal impact on surrounding neighborhoods.

WHITTWOOD

Any changes must be beautiful, all electric, with lots of open spaces and trees, and with businesses that are a good fit. Areas for our children to safely congregate. Develop an East Whittier community committee to provide input and feedback for future developments. Check out my video in the link above.

CLEANER & GREENER

More proactive environmental programs and regulations helping to prevent huge increases in insurance, especially homes close to the hills. Also helping with inflation, as Climate Change impacts almost everything we buy.

UPTOWN

Revitalize without removing all the trees. Reinstate the gardens of Whittier plan that was based on collaboration and incremental improvements. Ensure construction has minimal impact on the businesses.
